Capital City Canada Day

Canada Day in Charlottetown

Capital City Canada Day will return to in-person celebrations this year, with an all-day schedule of free activities including musical performances, an art installation, and family activities.

We acknowledge that the land upon which we gather is unceded Mi’kmaq territory. Epekwitk (Prince Edward Island) is covered by the historic Treaties of Peace and Friendship. We pay our respects to the Indigenous Mi'kmaq People who have occupied this Island for over 12,000 years; past, present and future.

The City is committed to hosting an inclusive, COVID-friendly Canada Day program this year. To do so, we have sought programming input from various groups, including the Black Cultural Society, Carrefour de l’Isle-Saint-Jean, L’nuey, PEI Association for Newcomers to Canada, and Pride PEI.

All Capital City Canada Day celebrations will operate in accordance with COVID-19 gatherings guidance and under operational plans approved by the Chief Public Health Office. Outdoor activities are weather permitting. Weather-related announcements will be issued through local media and the City's social media channels. Stay up to date on Facebook and Twitter
