
Celebrate Islander Day in the Capital City with free, family-friendly activities on Monday, February 21.
All activities listed below are FREE to all participants.
Pre-registration is required for all in-person activities. Registration will be begin Tuesday, February 15 at 12:00 p.m.
COVID-19 guidelines will be in place for all in-person activities. Facility-specific rules are listed below and will be communicated to ticket-holders in advance of Islander Day. Due to capacity limits at venues, tickets are limited to four per family for all in-person activities.

Virtual East Coast Art Party
As part of the City's Winter Lights initiatives, learn how to paint the below winter scene during the virtual painting class hosted by East Coast Art Party. Video will be available beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 19.
100 free art kits are available for pick up at City Hall on a first-come, first-served basis. While City Hall is currently closed to the public, the reception desk is staffed and will arrange contactless pick up for the kits. Limit of two kits per household per week.

For those who are not able to access a free art kit but would still like to participate, you will require:
- 8x10 canvas
- Acrylic paint (5 colors: red, blue, yellow, black, and white)
- 3 brushes (small, medium and a large)
- A cup for water
- Napkins
- A mixing plate for the paint. |

Family Skate - SOLD OUT
Simmons Sports Centre - 170 North River Rd.
Registration is required. Max capacity of 50 skaters per skate. Parents/guardians who would like to attend but not skate can sign up for a non-skating ticket.
Safety Requirements:
- Helmets are mandatory
- Masks must be worn at all times while inside the facility except when on the ice
- Participants/spectators may arrive a maximum 15 minutes prior to the 8:15 a.m. ice time
- All participants/spectators age 12 and up must provide proof of vaccination (2 doses)
Tickets may be booked beginning Tuesday, February 15 at 12:00 p.m. via the below link and there is a limit of four skating tickets per group.

Family Swim
Bell Aliant Centre (560 University Ave - UPEI Campus)
Free tickets are required and can be picked up beginning Tuesday, February 15 at 12:00 p.m. at the Bell Aliant Centre.
Limit of four tickets per group.
COVID-19 Rules:
- Vaccine Pass is required for all patrons 12 and older, with government ID's for all 18 and older
- Masks are to be worn into the facility but not required once swimmers reach the pool deck. Masks must be worn by patrons not actively in the water i.e. watching from the pool deck.
- Tickets will be required for anyone going onto the pool deck.
- Kids under 7 years require an adult within arms reach and in the water. Kids 12 years and younger require an adult in the facility.

Folk for Little Folk Virtual Concert
All-ages show featuring Charlottetown fiddler Gordie "Crazy Legs" MacKeeman and some of his folk musician pals, who will be performing songs from his debut children’s album, Folk for Little Folk Volume 1.
The show will premiere on the City's YouTube page at 11:00 a.m. on Islander Day and will be available for viewing after that time.

Horse and Wagon Rides - SOLD OUT
Departing from Founders' Food Hall & Market
Take a magical horse and wagon ride with Emerald Isle Carriage Tours in downtown Charlottetown, departing from Founders' Food Hall & Market every 30 minutes. Pre-booking is required and will be available beginning Tuesday, February 15 at 12:00 p.m. Pre-book by calling 902-313-1000 or visiting Emerald Isle Carriage Tours on Facebook.
Masks are required while on the carriage. Tickets are limited to four per group. |
