The City of Charlottetown’s traditional Natal Day Parade takes place on Sunday, August 4. During the line-up, which begins at 9:15 a.m., Kent Street will be closed between Queen and Pownal streets until the parade begins at 10 a.m. Depending on the number of participants, a temporary closure may also be necessary on Kent Street between Pownal and Rochford.

The parade will depart from Fire Station 1 (89 Kent Street) at approximately 10 a.m. There will be rolling road closures as the parade proceeds along the route. The parade will depart from the Fire Station, proceed to Queen Street, Grafton Street and Prince Street, concluding at Trinity United Church (220 Richmond Street) at approximately 10:20 a.m.

Participants in the traditional Natal Day Civic Parade include Mayor Philip Brown, members of City Council, members of the Fire Department and Police Services, military and military-affiliated units, and other community groups. Police officers will be assisting in directing traffic. The public is advised to be cautious during the parade and follow the instruction of officers.

The Natal Day Parade will go ahead rain or shine.

Afternoon Fun in the Park will take place on Sunday, August 4 from 1 to 4 p.m. in Victoria Park. Victoria Park Driveway (access road to the tennis courts) will be closed from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Victoria Park Roadway will remain open, but motorists are reminded to use caution and may experience possible delays during the event.
