Information Regarding Limb, Branch Clean-Up
Posted on 09/09/2019
The City of Charlottetown is asking the public to ensure any branches or limbs being piled at curbside are in 4-foot, manageable bundles as per Island Waste Management Corporation (IWMC) standards. The bundles should not be placed on sidewalks, the roadway, the shoulder of the road, or in cycling lanes because the debris can become an additional hazard for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists. Residents should place the bundles on their properties near, but not on the roadway, cycling lane or sidewalk.

The City corporation is working with IWMC and will have an update on residential pick-up of tree branches and debris tomorrow (Tuesday, September 10).

Cleanup and restoration efforts are continuing and additional crews have been called in to help. Power outages can be reported to Maritime Electric at 1-800-670-1012.

Water and Sewer Utility related issues can be reported during regular business hours at 902-629-4014 or, afterhours, at 902-626-2100. Reports of catch basin problems, downed trees on public right-of-way, or issues with City infrastructure, can be made to Public Works at 902-894-5208 during regular business hours or, afterhours, at 902-629-6916. The City’s general inquiry phone line (902-566-5548) is open 8-4 p.m., Monday to Friday.
