City Announces Winter Lights Activities

Bring Winter to Life with the City of Charlottetown’s Winter Lights Activities
Posted on 01/18/2021
The City of Charlottetown invites you to celebrate the spirit of the winter season by participating in the Winter Lights Photo Challenge and the Winter Wonderland Home Decorating Contest for a chance to win exciting local prizes.

These activities come with the City’s recent announcement of transitioning its downtown holiday lighting to winter lighting in an effort to bring light to the darkness of winter.

Showcase downtown Charlottetown’s magical décor with the Winter Lights Photo Challenge, running from January 18 to February 28. To enter, post a photo of winter lights on display in the downtown on Facebook or Instagram using the hashtag, #WinterLightsCharlottetown. A weekly winner will be announced every Monday, and all weekly winners will be entered to win a grand prize.

Join with neighbours and friends to help bring winter to life in Charlottetown’s neighbourhoods by entering the Winter Wonderland Home Decorating Contest. Residents are encouraged to help turn the city into a Winter Wonderland by decorating their homes and front yards with creative elements such as lighting, snow construction, and other winter décor materials. Participants must register by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, February 1. Judging will take place the week of February 8, with winners being announced on February 15.
