Traffic Advisory for Friday, September 3

A traffic advisory has been issued with the following traffic flow impacts expected:

• Walthen Drive, between Allen Street and Summer Street will be closed for the day Tuesday September 7. This is necessary for catch basin repair to take place.

• Sidewalk and curbing work is scheduled to take place in the following areas for (the week of August 30 - September 3):
o Alexander Drive, between Orlebar Street and Gerald Street
o Richmond Street, between Prince Street and Hillsborough Street
o Beach Street, off Kensington Road
o Dorchester Street, between Queen Street and Pownal Street


• A portion of the sidewalk on Pownal Street, between Sydney Street and Dorchester Street sidewalks will be closed to pedestrian traffic effective Thursday August 5, until September 30. This closure is necessary for masonry work to take place in this area. Signage will be in place and pedestrians are advised to use sidewalks on the opposite side of the road.

• Work continues on the new library on Queen Street, between Richmond Street and Sydney Street. This section of sidewalk remains open to pedestrian traffic with signage in place as this work is ongoing.

• A section of the Confederation Trail, from Mount Edward road to the University of Prince Edward Island turf fields, will be closed from Tuesday, September 7, until Thursday, September 9. This is in order to allow Maritime Electric to run fibre to their substation on the University campus.
