The City of Charlottetown is excited to announce the return of free, outdoor movie screenings to the Victoria Park Cultural Pavilion from September 1-3.

“As summer holidays begin to wind down, Cinema Under the Stars offers the perfect opportunity to come together and enjoy one last evening with family and friends before focus shifts to back-to-school activities,” said Charlottetown Mayor, Philip Brown. “What better way to celebrate another incredible Island summer than under the stars in beautiful Victoria Park.”

The schedule of screenings is as follows:

Thursday, September 1 – Downtown Abbey: A New Era (2022)
The much-anticipated cinematic return of the global phenomenon reunites the beloved cast as they go on a grand journey to the South of France to uncover the mystery of the Dowager Countess’ newly inherited villa. Movie is rated PG for some suggestive references, language, and thematic elements.

Friday, September 2 – Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero’s identity is revealed, bringing Peter Parker’s superhero responsibilities into conflict with his normal life and putting those he cares about most at risk. When he enlists Doctor Strange’s help to restore his secret, the spell tears a hole in their world, releasing the most powerful villains who’ve ever fought a Spider-Man in any universe. Now, Peter will have to overcome his greatest challenge yet, which will not only forever alter his own future but the future of the Multiverse. Rated PG-13 for sequences of action and violence, brief suggestive comments, and some language.

Saturday, September 3 – Encanto (2021)
The Madrigals are an extraordinary family who live hidden in the mountains of Colombia in a charmed place called the Encanto. The magic of the Encanto has blessed every child in the family with a unique gift – every child except Mirabel. However, she soon may be the Madrigals last hope when she discovers that the magic surrounding the Encanto is now in danger. Rated PG for some thematic elements and mild peril.

All movies will begin at 8:30PM. Blankets and folding chairs are encouraged. A blankets-only area will be identified on-site to ensure optimal viewing for all. Concessions will be available for sale on-site, cash only.
