“It was with great sadness that I learned of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
The Queen has dedicated a lifetime of service to the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms, and the Commonwealth. Her Majesty has stood at the helm of a nation during a remarkable period in history, and leaves behind a proud and considerable legacy of leadership and dignity.
As the longest-reigning British monarch, Her Majesty’s steadfast dedication to her reign is truly admirable and has inspired millions around the world.
On behalf of Council and the City of Charlottetown, I wish to extend my deepest condolences to the Royal Family, the people of the United Kingdom, and the Commonwealth.
The flags at all City of Charlottetown facilities and parks will be lowered immediately to half-mast during this period of mourning.”
