Business Tree Challenge

The City of Charlottetown is hosting the 5th annual Business Tree Planting Challenge to engage businesses in sustainability and promote tree planting in the City.  The Business Planting Tree Challenge, originally put forward by McInnes Cooper Law Firm in 2014, gives businesses who participate the opportunity to offset their paper use by planting a certain number of trees.

The 2018 Business Tree Planting event will take place at 930AM on Thursday, May 31st at the Upton Farmlands in Charlottetown. The crew from Macphail Woods ecological forestry project will be on site to share information on proper planting techniques. The only cost to your business is the price of the trees ($7 each) and a small fee towards the purchase of mulch and compost. The City will provide all other material and instruction for planting. The planting typically take a couple hours, depending on the number of trees and volunteers.

The 2018 Business Tree Planting Challenge registration is now closed. Keep an eye out for this initiative in 2019!
