Exciting Changes for Mayor’s Old Home Week Kick-off BBQ
Posted on 07/04/2019
The City of Charlottetown is excited to announce a new partnership and location for the Mayor’s Old Home Week Kick-off BBQ 2019. On Friday, August 9, the City and MBS, the operators of CFCY and Q93 radio stations, will be co-hosting this lunch-time event. The event will be held at the greenspace in front of the Q93 and CFCY studios (9 Prince Street).

“Old Home Week brings thousands of visitors to Charlottetown and is a tradition for many Island families, so we want to kick it off in style. We’re hosting this event to welcome everyone to the Capital City – the Birthplace of Confederation,” said Mayor Philip Brown. “We are very excited to partner with Q93 and CFCY on this event. The new location at the foot of Prince Street will give attendees a chance to enjoy our beautiful waterfront.”

This event will feature children’s entertainment, a BBQ and refreshments, ice cream and live entertainment provided by Cory Gallant, an emerging Island Country performer who just cut his first album. The Mayor, Council, and on-air personalities from Q93 and CFCY will also be on site.

“MBS Radio and its Charlottetown stations CFCY and Q93 are honoured to partner with the City of Charlottetown on the Mayor’s Old Home Week Kick-off BBQ,” said MBS Radio Station Manager Rick MacLeod. “Management and staff are excited to be on hand, helping out with the fun, the food and, of course, the music to ensure a successful event.”

This event is free, family friendly, and open to everyone. It is being held on Friday, August 9 from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m., weather permitting.
