Christmas Parade Neighbourhood Tours Begin November 22

The City of Charlottetown is pleased to announce the return of The Charlottetown Christmas Parade presents: Santa Claus Comes to Town. The six-day parade tour will travel through local neighbourhoods starting Monday, November 22 at 5:30 p.m. nightly.

First introduced in 2020 as a COVID-friendly alternative to the annual Charlottetown Christmas parade, the parade tour will feature the Charlottetown Police Services, Charlottetown Fire Department, our beloved friend Charlie Town, Mayor and Council, and special guest Santa Claus. Residents are encouraged to get into the spirit and put on their festive favourite while enjoying the parade tour in their neighbourhood.

Parade Tour Schedule and Route

• Monday, November 22
o Sherwood-Parkdale, between Mount Edward Road and St. Peter’s Road
o City Centre, north of Euston Street, east of Spring Park Road and south of Kirkwood Drive-Allen Street
• Tuesday, November 23
o City Centre, north of Brighton Road-Euston Street, west of University Avenue, south of Capital Drive
• Wednesday, November 24
o East Royalty
o Hillsborough Park
• Thursday, November 25
o West Royalty, south of arterial highway
• Friday, November 26
o Winsloe
o West Royalty, north of arterial highway
• Saturday, November 27
o Sherwood-Parkdale, east of St. Peter’s Road
o 500 Lots, south of Euston Street

For safety during the parade tour, residents and local businesses are reminded to follow physical distancing guidelines and to avoid large gatherings. On the evening the parade tour is scheduled in your neighbourhood, please avoid parking on the street and be aware of minor potential traffic delays.

Get Festive Contest
With Santa Claus coming to town, residents are invited put on a festive favourite and show their holiday spirit. Some festive favourites include – Santa hat, elf shoes, ugly sweater, holiday onesie, Rudolph nose, candy cane striped socks and more.

How to enter: put on your festive favourite during your neighbourhood parade tour, snap a picture tagging us on Facebook (City of Charlottetown), Instagram (@city_of_charlottetown) or Twitter (@ChtownPE) using the hashtag #GetFestiveYYG. Winners will be announced on Monday, November 29 and contacted directly.

Letters to Santa and Holiday Food Drive
Don’t forget to write your letter to Santa! The North Pole Post Office at Confederation Court Mall in center court is now open, and residents are invited to drop off their letter to Santa by Monday, December 6.

As part of the holiday food drive, residents are also invited to drop off non-perishable food donations, in support of the Upper Room Hospitality Ministry Food Bank. Collection bins are located on the main level of the Confederation Court Mall across from Grand Senses Spa until Wednesday, December 15. The drop off location for both letters and food donations will be open during mall hours.
