Charlottetown City Council will commission MDB Insight to conduct the first ever Charlottetown Citizen Satisfaction Survey, in an effort to gauge City residents’ satisfaction with the handling of priority issues within the City.  A total of 500 surveys will be conducted via telephone and will occur between March 15th and March 28th, 2021.

“Council is interested in getting a true reflection of the opinions of our citizens, and I am confident that residents will provide Council with their thoughts and reflections,” said Councillor Kevin Ramsay, Chair of the Strategic Priorities and Intergovernmental Cooperation committee. “The survey will enable the City to better understand the needs and perceptions of our City residents with regards to the performance of municipal services provided to the community, value for tax dollars, as well as quality of life and well being, which will then in turn, filter into the City’s Strategic Plan and future Capital and Operational budget allocations,” Councillor Ramsay concluded.

Citizens who are selected to participate in this confidential survey can expect questions regarding residents’ quality of life, municipal services, communication with City Council, and perceived value of municipal spending. The data collected will be weighted to ensure an accurate reflection of age, and gender distribution of the local population. The survey will be completed using a stratified sampling approach, which will result in an overall margin of error of +/- 4.4 percentage points 19 times out of 20.
