A traffic advisory has been issued for Sunday, October 6 for the 2019 CIBC Run for the Cure and Farm Day in the City.

Farm Day in the City, presented by the PEI Potato Growers, returns to the historic downtown Charlottetown this Sunday, October 6 from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.

The public is invited to Celebrate the Island’s bountiful harvest and the ‘buy local’ culture at this open-air market that takes over lower Queen Street (from Grafton to Water) and Victoria Row in the heart of historic downtown Charlottetown. There will be lots of free activities taking place throughout the day, including live music on two stages, a petting zoo, kids’ activities, and a good ol’ fashioned pie-eating contest in support of local charities.

In order for this fantastic event to take place, a number of road closures and parking restrictions are required. The following closures will be in place from 4 a.m. until 9 p.m., as well as restricted parking in the areas listed below:
• Queen Street between Grafton Street and Water Street;
• Richmond Street between Pownal Street and Great George Street;
• Sydney Street between Pownal Street and Great George Street;
• Dorchester Street between Queen Street and Pownal Street;
• King Street between Great George Street and Queen Street;

Kent Street will be closed, from Pownal Street to Queen Street, between 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. to accommodate the Charlottetown Fire Department (Station 1) Open House.
In order to accommodate the Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure, a number of street closures will be in effect beginning at 9:45 a.m.

• Prince Street to Water Street: Full closure with partial openings between 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
• Water Street to Haviland Street: Full closure
• Haviland Street/Rochford Street to Kent Street: Full closure
• Kent Street to the end of Victory Park Roadway (by the pool): Full closure
• Peak’s Wharf Parking Lot access off Prince will be closed from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
