Displaying Support for Nova Scotia

Displaying Support for Nova Scotia
Posted on 04/22/2020
Residents and business owners are encouraged to join the City of Charlottetown in support of Nova Scotia by displaying blue and yellow/gold décor, if possible. The City’s bell tower at City Hall was lit in blue and gold lights last night and will remain in those colours into next week as part of efforts to let Nova Scotians know they are in the prayers and thoughts of Islanders.

The City expresses its deepest condolences to Nova Scotia following the unimaginable tragedy that took place last weekend, claiming the lives of many people. Municipal flags have been lowered to half-mast to honour those who lost their lives. While the flags were lowered earlier in the week, the public may notice the flags at the Charlottetown Event Grounds were not. The flags at the Charlottetown Event Grounds were not able to be lowered due to failed mechanisms and new parts required.

An online vigil called ‘Nova Scotia Remembers’ is scheduled to be live-streamed for free on Facebook and YouTube on Friday, April 24, starting at 7 p.m. ADT. To access it, visit: https://www.facebook.com/events/161680291833020/
