Floating Dock Being Installed at Vic Park

Temporary Floating Dock Being Installed at Victoria Park
Posted on 07/18/2019
A low profile modular composite floating dock system is currently being installed at Victoria Park, which will officially open to the public tomorrow morning (Friday, July 19).

This new addition will enable the public to walk out onto the dock and touch the water, as well provide a spot to enjoy the beautiful waterfront views. An additional accessible parking space has been created in front of the entrance of the floating dock, to make the dock more accessible to the public. For public safety, a control access gate has been installed at the gangway entrance off of the boardwalk. The dock system will be open for public use from dawn to dusk.

A list of rules and regulations are posted at the entrance to the floating dock and the public is reminded to abide by these rules in order to ensure public safety and enjoyment for everyone. The dock system will be regularly inspected and monitored by City staff, including Park Patrol, to help ensure public safety and compliance to rules and regulations. The temporary structure is expected to remain in place until the October 15.

The public is reminded that the City has a public slip located at the Charlottetown Yacht Club, where the general public can launch small non-motorized watercraft, such as a kayak or paddle board.
