New Tri-Municipal Website on Water Conservation

New Tri-Municipal Website Aimed at Water Conservation
Posted on 03/05/2019
The City of Charlottetown, Town of Stratford and Town of Cornwall, recently launched a new tri-municipal website with valuable information about water conservation.

“Water conservation is a topic that comes up often and our residents are interested in learning ways to reduce their water usage,” said Charlottetown Mayor Philip Brown. “This new website provides everything from basic information on buying water efficient appliances, to details about reading your water meter and fixing leaks. Working together with the Towns of Stratford and Cornwall on this project was a perfect partnership, as this message is one we all share for the greater Charlottetown area.”

The Be Water Friendly website has a variety of information including water saving tips, how to read a water meter, educational opportunities, rebate programs and municipal initiatives.

“This website is an excellent resource for residents of Stratford to learn about their new water meters and find out how they can reduce their water consumption,” said Deputy Mayor and Infrastructure Chair, Gary Clow. “The Town of Stratford believes that this partnership with the Town of Cornwall and the City of Charlottetown is a great step toward fresh water sustainability. We hope residents will all take action to Be Water Friendly!”

“Water is a necessity for all, and it is our responsibility to protect this resource for all generations to come,” said Cornwall Mayor Minerva McCourt. “I am very pleased that our three communities have come together in a collective effort to reduce water waste and further promote water conservation to the public.”

Fix a Leak Month, announced last week, is a tri-municipal initiative which encourages the public to find and repair leaks in their homes or businesses to help conserve water. Random prize draws will take place each Friday in March, beginning on March 8. To enter or for more information visit the new website at: www.BeWaterFriendly.com
