Posted on 01/16/2020
Outdoor rinks in the City of Charlottetown are now open for use.

The City’s Parks and Recreation Department is busy working to construct a total of twelve outdoor rinks this season. There are now five rinks open for use including: the rink located at the Elmer MacFadyen Memorial Recreational Complex, Founder’s Hall Greenspace, J. Bomber Callaghan Park, Orlebar Park, and Mulberry Park. The other seven rinks are either currently under construction or will be under construction in the coming days. Anyone using the rinks is required to wear CSA approved helmets while on the outdoor rinks.

The public is encouraged to check on the status of the rinks by visiting the Skating and Skiing webpage.

The status of the outdoor rinks is updated online daily, Monday - Friday. The ideal temperature for construction and maintenance of the outdoor rinks is about -6 degrees Celsius, consistently. The outdoor rinks will be maintained as long as weather conditions continue to be suitable.
