The City of Charlottetown’s Parks and Recreation Department will host an active lunch in conjunction with the ParticipACTION Community Better Challenge in Rotchford Square on Wednesday May 15th. The active lunch will take place from 12 – 1 p.m. and will feature the ParticipACTION rally team. The rally team will lead a number of fun, active activities from tug of war, to soccer, to one stick poll and more!

ParticipACTION is a national non-profit organization whose mission is to help Canadians sit less, and move more. The Community Better Challenge is a brand new annual physical activity challenge that rallies communities coast to coast to sit less and move more together.

As individuals or as part of an organization, they are asking Canadians to get active where they live, work, and play, and track their physical activity minutes in an effort for their community to be recognized as the one that champions active living. At the conclusion, they’ll recognize and celebrate community achievements, crowning regional winners, and ultimately appointing one community with up to $150,000 and the designation of Canada’s Most Active Community!

To promote the Challenge, the ParticipACTION Rally Team will be traveling the country starting May 11th getting Canadians active and tracking their minutes on the ParticipACTION app.

The rally team will be bringing a variety of fun and unique physical activity experiences to life at these events, through their oversized activity dice to engage participants in fun, timed activity challenges to get them moving! They will also have some great photo opportunities and will be giving out some free prizes to those who participate.

All of these activities are FREE and open to all ages!
