Traffic Advisory for Thursday October 7

A traffic advisory has been issued with the following traffic flow impacts expected for Thursday, October 7, 2021:

• Sidewalk and curbing work is scheduled to take place in the following areas for (the week of October 4-8):
o Dorchester Street, between Pownal Street and Queen Street

• Grafton Street, between Pownal Street and Rochford Street from approximately 7 a.m. until end of day will be closed to all vehicle traffic. All parking spaces in these areas will be blocked for the entire day. These closures are necessary for pavement milling work to take place.
o Between Queen Street and Pownal Street will be closed for a few hours in the morning, from approximately 7 a.m. until 9 a.m

• Pond Street, between University Avenue and Queen Street, will see temporary lane closures throughout the day for the remainder of the week. This is necessary for street reconstruction work to occur. Business only traffic will be permitted. The Public Works Department apologizes for any inconvenience to the public.

• A portion of the sidewalk on Pownal Street, between Sydney Street and Dorchester Street sidewalks will be closed to pedestrian traffic until mid October. This closure is necessary for masonry work to take place in this area. Signage will be in place and pedestrians are advised to use sidewalks on the opposite side of the road.

• Work continues on the new library on Queen Street, between Richmond Street and Sydney Street. This section of sidewalk remains open to pedestrian traffic with signage in place as this work is ongoing.
