Fall/Winter Program Brochure and Registration Now Available

The City of Charlottetown Parks and Recreation Department has released its 2021/22 Fall and Winter Program Brochure. The brochure is available online at: www.charlottetown.ca under Recreation and Leisure.

The brochure's limited, printed quantities will also be available at City Hall, Parks, and Recreation Department, 199 Queen Street on Tuesday, September 28.

Activities listed in the brochure include direct delivery programs presented by the Parks and Recreation Department and various programs and services offered by volunteer-based organizations throughout the City.

The wide range of activities offers something for everyone, from pre-school children to seniors. Many of the Fall programs are now open for registration.
Love badminton, but aren't sure where to play? Join City Parks and Recreation staff at the West Royalty Community Centre every Saturday for ten weeks of badminton. The program is offered to children in grades 3-8 and runs from 8:30 am to 9:30 am. The cost for the 10-week program is $30 for City residents and $40 for non-residents. This program will begin on Saturday, October 2.

The City will offer a recreational program beginning Tuesday, October 12 at the West Royalty Community Centre for basketball lovers. It will be available to girls every Tuesday from 5:50 pm p.m. to 6:50 pm for grades 1 - 3 students. It will be available at 7 pm to 8 pm for those in grades 4 -6. Boys in grades 1 and 2 can play on Wednesdays from 5:50 pm to 6:50 pm Boys in grades 3 and 4 can play basketball from 7 pm to 8 pm. The cost is $35 for residents and $45 for non-residents. Registration for this program will be opening on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at 9:00 am.

There are activities available for pre-school children as well. The Me and My Friends Program are open to preschoolers at the West Royalty Community Centre every Saturday from 10:00 am to 10:50 am. Children ages 2-4 can interact with their peers, play with toys, make crafts and join City staff in singing and other activities. The cost for the 10-week program is $30 for residents and $45 for non-residents, and it begins on Saturday, October 2.

An Intro to Sports program will also be offered on Saturday mornings from 11:20 am – 12:10 pm at the West Royalty Community Centre. Children ages 3 - 4 can come and try some of their favorite sports in a fun, learning environment. The cost for the 10-week program is $30 for residents and $45 for non-residents, and it begins on Saturday, October 2.

An Adult Circuit Fitness class begins on Monday, October 4, and runs Mondays and Thursdays from 7:00 – 8:00 am at the West Royalty Community Centre. Registrations fees are $69 for residents and $86.25 for non-residents (both fees include HST). For seniors, the Downtown Fitness Class beings on Monday, October 4, and runs Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:30 – 10:30 am in the gym at Trinity United Church. Registration fee is $40.25 (including HST).
