This picture is a leaf of a hobblebush, it is heart-shaped and with many veins. This shrub is native to PEI but rare. We are at risk of losing this plant in PEI...it is endangered. The name hobblebush came from the appearance of this silly bush. The tips bend down and touch the ground, roots can form and the shrub appears to hobble. If you get a chance to visit Macphail Woods check of the hobblebush in the arboretum!
