I think owls are so neat, don't you? I never really considered myself a bird person till I saw a Barred Owl with my own eyes. I was fascinated. Soon I learned that there are 5 species of owls that call PEI home with many other that visit every now and then. Now I want to learn about all PEI birds.
Snowy owls are one of our visitors. These birds are so beautiful with their white feathers and dark barring. They often appear in various places around the Island during the winter. These birds of Canada's North visit PEI when food is scarce or the owl population is too large; therefore they are nomadic. Males are often have more white on there body than females and are smaller.
