Textile Tuesday
Mending Workshop
Date: Tuesday, Oct. 21
Location: The Gallery, Coffee House and Bistro, 82 Great George Street
Details: Join local seamstress, Hope Rector, for a hands-on workshop learning a variety of beginner friendly, sewing and mending techniques. Bring your own piece of clothing to repair and we’ll walk you through it! The workshop will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at The Gallery Coffee House and Bistro. Pre-registration is required, as space is limited. You can pre-register through the link on the right of this page.
E-Waste Wednesday
Battery Recycling Drive with Recycle Your Batteries Canada!

Details: Are you looking to get rid of old batteries? Last year, we broke our record with 400kg of batteries recycled at City Hall. This year we’re aiming to recycle 500kg of batteries! Bring your old batteries to the Recycle Your Batteries Canada! dropbox located in front of City Hall. The first 10 participants to drop off their batteries will receive a $10 Downtown Charlottetown gift card, and all participants have a chance grab some Recycle Your Batteries Canada swag!

Food Waste Reduction Workshop

Location: Tourism and Culinary Centre, 4 Sydney Street
Details: Learn simple, safe, and budget-friendly ways to extend the life of your food and cut waste at home. This live session covers planning, storage, and preservation methods from fridge and freezer hacks to quick pickles, dehydration basics, and safe canning principles so you can keep food fresh longer, use what you buy, and save money. Taking place at the Tourism and Culinary Centre at 4 Sydney St. from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Clothing Swap & Shop

Location: Beaconsfield Carriage House, 2 Kent Street
Details: Come take part in a clothing swap and market at Beaconsfield Carriage House from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Each person can bring up to five items of clothing to swap for free! Come enjoy live music and support local vendors! This event is made possible by a partnership with Village & Values.
Repair Sunday
Fix-It Fair

Location: West Royalty Community Centre, 1 Kirkdale Road
Details: The City’s annual Fix-It Fair is back again! Give your broken items a renewed life at the Repair Café. Stop by different workshops and visit local community groups at our Community Resource Hub! The Fix-it Fair will be held at the West Royalty Community Center on Sunday, Oct. 26 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The Repair Café will feature “fixers” who have volunteered to repair various household items for free. The role of the fixers is not only to repair broken items but to share their knowledge so participants can perform similar repairs at home. Participants can bring in one item per person, such as a small appliance or item of clothing, to be repaired by the skilled on-site fixers.
