Celebrate the magic of the holiday season in Charlottetown with the City of Charlottetown's signature holiday activities!

Holiday Projection on the Plaza
Date: November 24 to January 2 | Nightly from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. 
Location:  Lou MacEachern Upper Plaza at Confederation Centre of the Arts (Grafton Street)
This all-new, animated holiday-themed projection and music show will bring the Grafton Street façade of the Confederation Centre of the Arts to life again this year. Holiday Projection on the Plaza is a project of the City of Charlottetown in partnership with Confederation Centre of the Arts and Confederation Court Mall and is proudly supported by the TIAPEI PEI Events Innovation Fund and the Charlottetown Special Events Reserve Fund.
*Note - on November 24 the Projection will commence after the Tree Lighting ceremony (approx. 7:30 p.m.)

Holiday Home Decorating Contest

Get out the Christmas decorations! The home decorating contest is the perfect time to show off your holiday cheer with festive decorations on the exterior of your home or property. The deadline to enter is Monday, December 4. Entries will be judged the week of December 11 on the following criteria: use of natural materials, use of lighting, creativity, and overall design.

Christmas Tree Lighting
Date: Friday, November 24 | 6:30 p.m.
Location: Lou MacEachern Upper Plaza at Confederation Centre of the Arts (Grafton Street)

Featuring live performances by award-winning Island artists, refreshments, and a pyrotechnic display. A candlelight promenade will depart from Founders' Food Hall & Market at 6:15 p.m., with the official Tree Lighting ceremony beginning at 6:30 p.m. on the Lou MacEachern Upper Plaza at Confederation Centre of the Arts (Grafton Street).

The event begins with a candlelight promenade, departing from Founders’ Food Hall & Market at 6:15 p.m. Members of the public who wish to participate in the promenade are asked to meet outside Founders’ Food Hall & Market between 6 and 6:15 p.m. to pick up a candle. The walk will be led by a choir, who will sing Christmas carols as they lead participants up Great George Street, Victoria Row, Queen Street through the Victorian Christmas Market, finishing at Grafton Street in front of the Christmas tree.

The official Tree Lighting ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m. on the Confederation Centre of the Arts Upper Plaza. Participants will be treated to live performances by Island artists Catherine MacLellan, Logan Richard, and Jorge Peña as well as a special appearance by Father Christmas. 

Charlottetown Christmas Parade
Saturday, November 25 | 5:00 p.m.
The Charlottetown Christmas Parade will return to the capital city on Saturday, November 25. For full information, including details on the parade route, donations of non-perishable food items, and the collection of letters to Santa along the route, visit www.charlottetown.ca/parade.
