The City of Charlottetown is inviting applications for the 2025 Community Sustainability Microgrant Program. Eligible projects can receive up to $2,500 to help bring their environmental and sustainability projects to life.
Microgrants are available to individuals or community organizations who are planning an event or project that aligns with the goals and actions of the City’s
Climate Action Plan. Projects must take place in Charlottetown and be completed by the end of January 2026.
Eligible applications will be reviewed by a selection committee based on creativity, project feasibility, positive impact, and contribution to Climate Action Plan goals.
The City’s Climate Action Plan and related sustainability efforts are based on 10 themes. Eligible projects must align with the goals and actions in at least one of the 10 themes:
• Climate Equity and Reconciliation
• Emergency Preparedness
• Food Security
• Efficient and Resilient Buildings
• Renewable Energy and Energy Storage
• Sustainable Transportation
• Natural Assets and Green Infrastructure
• Governance
• Education and Communication
The application deadline is
May 30.
Since the program began in 2011, more than $200,000 in funding has supported over 100 local community sustainability projects and events, ranging from a coffee pod recycling initiative to a dance showcase to an edible garden tour.
