Victoria Row Fully Re-Opens for Summer

The City on Sunday will fully re-open Victoria Row for the summer as redevelopment work for Confederation Centre of the Arts is paused for that section of Richmond Street.
“We’re happy to return full access to Victoria Row and its businesses starting this Sunday,” said Mayor Philip Brown. “Residents and visitors alike can once again enjoy this unique and vibrant part of our city, just as they do every summer.”
Construction for the Centre’s redevelopment project has been progressing as planned and will continue in other areas while specific work adjacent to Victoria Row is paused until the fall. Safety fencing along Victoria Row will be moved so the full width of the street can be used, including the stage for live music.
“Thanks to the conscientious work from Brighton Construction and cooperation from the City of Charlottetown, the Centre is delivering on the promise made to ensure Victoria Row would return to its usual summer state for the season,” said Cente CEO Steve Bellamy. “Confederation Centre of the Arts is proud to be on this vibrant block of downtown Charlottetown, and appreciates the public’s patience and support as we expand this cultural hub in the heart of the city.”
Facilitating the Centre’s redevelopment project aligns with Charlottetown’s strategic direction of community-building and placemaking.
