Pownal Parkade Renovations to Begin May. 1
Facility Will Remain Open to Monthly Permit Holders
The City of Charlottetown is advising residents that phase 2 of renovations at the Pownal Parkade will begin on Friday, May 1.
The project is part of ongoing repairs and upgrades to ensure the parkade remains safe and operational. Phase 1 was completed in fall 2025; phase 2 is expected to be completed in late summer 2026.
Throughout Phase 2, the parkade will remain open to monthly permit holders. Parking will be limited to certain areas of the parkade as repair work is carried out throughout the facility. Prohibited parking areas will be clearly marked. The parkade will be closed to the general public during this time.
On-street parking and additional parking at the Peakes Wharf lot near Confederation Landing will be available to accommodate non-permit holders.
For questions related to monthly permits or parking options during construction, please contact the Charlottetown Area Development Corporation (CADC) at 902-892-5341 or

The City of Charlottetown appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as we complete these necessary upgrades.
