Draft Heritage Preservation Bylaw Now Available

The City of Charlottetown has released a draft of the updated Heritage Preservation Bylaw for review and is inviting public feedback.

The current bylaw, which was last amended in 2019, guides the strategic management and decision-making process for the protection of heritage resources in the city. The update is focused on strengthening measures for the protection of heritage resources, offering greater clarity and guidance for residents and ensuring the practical conservation of historical assets.

Date: Tuesday, June 16
Time: 5:30 – 8 p.m.
Location: Simmons Sports Centre, Multi-purpose Room, 170 North River Road

Date: Wednesday, June 17
Time: 5:30 – 8 p.m.
Location: Hillsborough Park Community Centre, 199 Patterson Drive

Participants will have an opportunity to review the draft bylaw, ask questions of staff and consultants, and share their input.

Residents may also submit feedback online or share their comments by emailing [email protected] by July 10.

Please note that once adopted, the official bylaw name will change to “Heritage Conservation Bylaw” to better reflect the scope and intent of the policy.
