The City of Charlottetown advises residents and trail users that urban forest management work will begin June 15 along portions of the Andrew’s Pond Nature Trails system. The project is expected to be completed in early fall 2026.
The work will include managing woody debris, removing invasive glossy buckthorn, and replanting affected areas with native trees, shrubs and plants.
The project is intended to support rapid regeneration of the local forest canopy, adding visual and functional improvements while also improving many ecosystem services such as wildlife habitat and erosion control.
During this work, residents and trail users may notice equipment operating along the trail system, along with debris removal by City staff and contractors from Laird Tree Care.
The City thanks residents and trail users for their patience.
