The City of Charlottetown’s Parks and Recreation Department is inviting the public to the official opening of the new outdoor pool at Simmons Sports Centre.

Location: Simmons pool, 170 North River Road
The event will include a brief official opening ceremony followed by refreshments and a free public swim from 1:30 – 5 p.m. Bring your friends and family for an afternoon of celebration and fun in the sun. Everyone is welcome.
The new Simmons Sports Centre officially opened to the public in December 2024 and has since become a cornerstone for active living and community events. The new, 25-metre outdoor swimming pool is heated and features six swim lanes, an accessible ramp and three new change rooms. Swim lessons, public and lane swims and family-friendly programs will be offered all summer.
The pool will be open daily from June 22 to August 31, 2025, with lifeguards on duty. The full
