Sherwood Sport and Recreation Complex Master Plan

City Launches Public Consultation on Sherwood Sport and Recreation Complex Master Plan
Posted on 11/03/2025
The City of Charlottetown is inviting residents to share their input on the development of a new Sherwood Sport and Recreation Complex Master Plan.

Development of the plan will begin with an assessment of the existing Sherwood area sport and recreation facilities, including evaluating the remaining life of the Cody Banks Arena and exploring future options for the Sherwood Recreation Hall and Sherwood Lawn Bowling Club. The goal is to identify how the site can best meet the current and future needs of the community while maximizing the potential of existing infrastructure. This includes examining opportunities to redesign the space into a multi-use sport and recreation complex.

“Community and stakeholder input is key to ensuring we get the future of this site right – that it reflects the needs and priorities of residents,” said Councillor Mitchell Tweel, Chair of the City’s Public Works Committee. “I encourage everyone to get involved and share their ideas for improving sport and recreation amenities in the community of Sherwood and in the city generally.”

Residents can provide feedback through an online survey that will remain open until Nov. 17. In-person consultation opportunities will be scheduled over the winter months, with dates to be announced in the coming weeks.
