The City of Charlottetown is inviting residents to help shape the city’s public art by voting for their favourite mural design to be painted on the Charlottetown Library Learning Centre.
After an open call for artists, three artists have been shortlisted by an independent peer jury of arts-sector and community representatives. The selected mural will be installed on the exterior of the Charlottetown Library Learning Centre, located at 97 Queen St., later this year and is expected to remain on display for 5-10 years. The project aligns with the City’s Public Art Plan, which identifies public and cultural facilities as priority locations for public art.
Public voting will be open from Wednesday, July 22, to Tuesday, July 28 at 4 p.m.
Voting results will be shared with the independent peer jury and will be considered as one of several factors in its final recommendation to the Arts Advisory Board and Charlottetown City Council.
