Upcoming Zoning and Development Bylaw Open House

Help Shape Charlottetown’s Future Growth at Upcoming Zoning and Development Bylaw Open House
Posted on 05/15/2026
Residents are invited to attend a public open house on the City’s draft Zoning and Development Bylaw and learn more about proposed changes that will guide future growth and development in Charlottetown.

Date: Thursday, May 21
Time: 5:30 - 8 p.m.
Location: Hillsborough Park
Community Centre, 199 Patterson Dr.

The Zoning and Development Bylaw will serve as the City’s primary regulatory framework for land use development, guiding what can be built, where development can occur and under what conditions.

Proposed updates to the bylaw are intended to support a wider range of housing options, streamline the development process, and provide greater clarity and predictability for residents, property owners and developers. Attendees at the open house will have an opportunity to learn
more about the proposed changes, speak directly with staff, ask questions and
provide feedback.

Residents who are unable to attend in person are encouraged to review the draft bylaw and submit comments online or by email at [email protected].

Public feedback will help inform a “What We Heard” report that will be presented to Council for consideration.
