Tendering and RFP

This page is used to provide interested groups/individuals the ability to identify tenders and other procurement opportunities issued by the City of Charlottetown. The official bid documents for most tenders are available to download.

City of Charlottetown Tenders including Request for Proposals, Request for Quotations, etc. create no obligation on the part of the City of Charlottetown to award the contract or to reimburse proponents for proposal preparation expenses. The City of Charlottetown reserves the right to accept or reject any and all proposals, in whole or in part, received as a result of a tender request, and to negotiate in any manner necessary to best serve the interest of the City of Charlottetown.

City of Charlottetown Tenders including Request for Proposals, Request for Quotations, etc. will only have public openings if it is specifically stated in the document. If not there will be no public opening.

As at September 12, 2013, all City of Charlottetown tenders close at 2:00:00 p.m. local time.

Important Notice to Contractors

For all accepted tenders, Contractors must review and complete the “Contractor List of Required Documentation”. Please note that it is the Contractor’s responsibility to provide this information for review by the City of Charlottetown’s Occupational Health and Safety Officer, a minimum of 3 business days prior to the beginning of any contracted work, without exception. Should this information not be provided within the timelines required, the contracted work may be delayed. Additionally, it is the Contractor’s responsibility to ensure that all workers adhere to the City of Charlottetown’s Occupational Health and Safety Manual. This manual can be found here.

Tender closings are automatically delayed one business day if the City of Charlottetown Offices are delayed in opening or closed for the day.

When requesting documents, please request by title, include your company name, address, phone number, contact name, and fax number (if applicable).

Transit Depot Owner's Project Management Services   Open

The City of Charlottetown is in the RFP stage of the design-build of a modern and sustainably minded transit depot in Charlottetown. This depot is to allow Capital Area Transit to move towards transit fleet electrification. The RFP was provided to four companies who were the top candidates selected through a Request for Expression of Interest.

Pest Control Services - City Facilities and Skunk & Raccoon Removal  Open

The City of Charlottetown requires the services of a pest control company to control pests (mice, rats, birds, etc.) at City of Charlottetown facilities and to assist the public by providing skunk and raccoon control services, generally requiring capture on private properties within the City.

This RFQ is for the City of Charlottetown large caliper and large potted stock “Fall 2024 Tree Order”.  The City will give the successful Supplier a minimum of two (2) weeks notice, prior to the delivery date.

 Review and Update of the Zoning and Subdivisions Bylaws Open 

The successful proponent will be expected to conduct a comprehensive review of the current Zoning and Subdivision Bylaws. This will include identifying areas for improvement, opportunities for modernization, and regulatory alignment with the Municipal Official Plan and Provincial regulations. It is also expected that the proponent will develop these documents to achieve the relevant objectives in the City’s Housing Accelerator Fund contract with CMHC.

Supply of Four (4) Battery Powered Electric Buses  Open

The City of Charlottetown, on behalf of the Capital Area Transit Coordinating Committee (CATCC) requests Proposals for the manufacture and delivery of four (4) battery powered electric public transit buses in accordance with the terms and conditions set forth in RFP 2024-054. The City would expect delivery to Charlottetown, PEI by April 3, 2026.
