Posted on 06/29/2026
The City of Charlottetown invites residents and visitors to celebrate Canada Day at Victoria Park on Wednesday, July 1, with a full day of family-friendly activities, live entertainment, food vendors and fireworks.

This year’s celebrations will feature an exciting lineup of live entertainment, including JUNO Award-winning band Wintersleep and platinum-selling pop artist Ria Mae on the Coastal Vibes stage, along with performances by local and regional artists throughout the day.

Families can enjoy the Family Fun Zone from 12 to 7 p.m., featuring kid-friendly games, inflatables, community activations and festive giveaways throughout the day (while supplies last). Indigenous PEI will once again host an interactive pop-up showcasing local Indigenous artisans, cultural demonstrations and opportunities to learn about Indigenous traditions and culture. Attendees can explore the Tastes of Canada (and Beyond) food vendor zone, offering a variety of cuisines until 10 p.m.

For those looking to kick off celebrations early, Triathlon PEI will host a children’s triathlon at 8 a.m. at Victoria Park. Registration and a participant fee are required. Visit www.tripei.ca for details.

The day will conclude with the annual Canada Day fireworks display at 10 p.m., launched from a barge in Charlottetown Harbour. In partnership with the Autism Society of PEI, a limited number of noise-cancelling headphones will be available free of charge to individuals with sensory sensitivities. Distribution will begin at 9 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to take advantage of free and convenient transportation options. T3 Transit will operate on an adjusted Canada Day schedule, with free evening shuttle service available to and from the celebrations. All T3 Transit services will be free beginning at 6:45 p.m.; regular fares of $2 apply before that time, or riders may use their monthly pass. Visit www.t3transit.ca for a full schedule.

Bike Friendly Communities PEI will also provide a free bike valet service at Victoria Park, and will accept bicycles, skateboards, strollers, and other wheeled transportation.

All Capital City Canada Day activities are weather permitting. Cancellations or weather-related announcements will be shared on the City's social media channels including Facebook @CityofCharlottetown and Instagram @city_of_charlottetown.
