Posted on 07/09/2025
Charlottetown turns 170! Celebrate with four fun-filled days of free, family-friendly Natal Day events taking place from July 31 to Aug. 3.

The public is invited to take part in activities including an outdoor pancake breakfast, youth and older adults programming, a new musical event in partnership with the PEI Symphony Orchestra, a birthday party for Charlottetown mascot “Charlie Town” and more.

“Charlottetown’s 170th birthday is a time to come together as a community and celebrate all that makes our city such a special place to live, work and feel at home,” said Mayor Philip Brown. “I encourage everyone to take part in the festivities and enjoy the music, food and fun that reflect the vibrant and welcoming spirit of Charlottetown. It’s a celebration for people of all ages and backgrounds, and I look forward to seeing our whole community come together to enjoy it.”

“Natal Day has always been about bringing people together — and what better way to mark 170 years than with events that welcome families, neighbours and visitors to share in the spirit of Charlottetown,” said Councillor Terry Bernard, Chair of the Economic, Tourism and Cultural Development Committee. “It’s a celebration of who we are and everything we’ve built together.”
