Long-Serving Employees Honoured at Service Awards

Long-Serving Employees Honoured at Annual Service Awards
Posted on 06/25/2025
The City of Charlottetown recognized the dedication and achievements of its long-serving employees during the 2025 Service Recognition Ceremony, held yesterday at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Prince Edward.

Each year the City honours staff members who have reached key service milestones and those who are retiring. The event offers an opportunity to thank employees for their commitment to serving the residents of Charlottetown and contributing to the growth and well-being of the community.

“Charlottetown’s strength lies in the people who work hard every day to make our city a better place to live, work, play and raise a family,” said Mayor Philip Brown. “It’s an honour to celebrate the dedication and public service of these individuals, many of whom have spent decades supporting our community. We thank each of them for the care and professionalism they bring to their work.”

This year’s ceremony recognized employees who have achieved service milestones – every five years up to 35, along with several retirements from across City departments.

Newly appointed Chief Administrative Officer Brad MacConnell attended his first Service Awards in his new role and expressed his appreciation for the honourees.

“The impact of a strong municipal workforce can be seen in every part of Charlottetown — from public safety to parks, from planning to public works,” said MacConnell. “I’m proud to join the City in honouring these individuals who have contributed so meaningfully to our organization and our residents.”
