The City of Charlottetown and Founders' Food Hall & Market invite residents to join in the free, family-friendly Capital New Year celebrations taking place Dec. 31, 2023, between 3 and 8 p.m. at Founders’ Food Hall & Market.
The event will feature exciting activities including all-day live entertainment headlined by Taylor Swift tribute band Swift Kick, complimentary hot chocolate and giveaways, a friendship bracelet station, face painting, a 360° photo booth, mascot character appearances, skating, ice sculptures, and a spectacular fireworks finale to celebrate the New Year.
NYE 360° Photo Booth
Time: 3 to 6 p.m.
Details: Capture the magic of the holiday season and ring in 2024 at the 360° photo booth!
Friendship Bracelet Making
Time: 3 to 6 p.m.
Details: Create your own friendship bracelets, show them off or trade with friends at the Swift Kick performance! Inspired by the friendship bracelet trading trend that emerged during Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour this year.
Face Painting
Time: 3 to 7 p.m.
Details: Dazzle for the New Year with a face painting activity presented by East Coast Art Party.
Live Entertainment
Time: 3 to 8 p.m.
Details: Featuring performances from talented local artists live from the Founders' outdoor and indoor stages. Enjoy performances from Brandon Gillis and David Woodside, Lefunk, and headliner Swift Kick – the most entertaining Taylor Swift tribute in Canada.
Complementary Refreshments
Time: Beginning at 5 p.m., while supplies last.
Details: Enjoy a $5 voucher to use at any Founders' Food Hall & Market vendor and warm up with a cup of free hot chocolate. Limit of one per person. First come, first served while supplies last.
Fireworks
Time: 7 p.m.
Details: A brilliant display of lights and colours launched from the waterfront at Port Charlottetown.
