City to Host Arts and Culture Open House
Posted on 11/16/2023
The City of Charlottetown is hosting an Arts and Culture Open House as part of the next phase of community engagement for the updated Cultural Policy. Participants will have an opportunity to review and respond to the new Cultural Policy draft and contribute to developing our collective vision for the arts and culture in Charlottetown.

Date: Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2023
Time: 3 to 6 p.m.
Location: Charlottetown Library Learning Centre, Rotary Auditorium, 97 Queen St.

The city is updating the Cultural Policy as part of its commitments through the Strategic Plan 2022-2026: A Community for Everyone. The renewed policy will help define the community’s objectives and cultural vision and establish guidelines and actions that will enable municipal leaders to make informed decisions about investment in the arts.

The policy is being developed with diverse community and stakeholder involvement. Previous surveys were issued throughout the summer 2023 and helped inform the first draft of the Cultural Policy. The Open House is part of the next phase of public engagement that will be used to refine the plan and ensure it reflects the community it serves. Beginning Nov. 30, residents will also have an opportunity to submit their feedback on the city’s online engagement platform.

The Open House is a free, drop-in style event and light refreshments will be provided. Residents are encouraged to visit charlottetownhall.ca/cultural-policy or contact Doug Dumais, Culture and Economic Coordinator, at [email protected] or (902) 566-5548 to learn more.
