The City of Charlottetown is hosting an open house to gather public feedback and provide information on the redevelopment of the North River Road corridor from Capital Drive to McGill Avenue.
Date: Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2023
Time: 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
Location: West Royalty Community Centre, 1 Kirkdale Rd.
This major redevelopment project will improve the corridor for pedestrians, active transportation users, vehicles and transit. The goal of the work is to provide concept designs for upgrades that will:
• Improve safety for all road users.
• Improve the availability and accessibility of active transportation and transit facilities on North River Road.
• Improve the aesthetics of the corridor, such as street lighting and green space enhancements.
• Improve traffic flow and mitigate congestion.
The project will also look at upgrading stormwater infrastructure where necessary to accommodate proposed conditions and will include upgrades to several intersections along North River Road.
The City will use the information gathered at the open house sessions, as well as written submissions following the sessions, to help select the most appropriate concept design alternatives for the project.
