Gerald Street Water Service Disruption and Street Closure

The Charlottetown Water and Sewer Utility is advising residents in the area of Gerald Street between Orlebar Street and Upper Prince Street of a temporary water service disruption on Tuesday, Sept. 29, while crews repair a leaking gate valve.
The water service disruption is expected to take place between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Please note that unforeseen circumstances may affect the estimated timeline.
To accommodate the repair work, Walthen Drive between Gerald Street and Hillcrest Avenue will be closed to through traffic until approximately 5 p.m. Local access will be maintained. Motorists are asked to use alternate routes where possible and to follow all posted signage.
Once water service is restored, customers may experience temporary changes in water pressure or discoloured water. If this occurs, customers are advised to run cold water through a bathtub faucet until the water runs clear.
