Annual Awards Celebrate Community Impact and Beautification Efforts
Posted on 06/22/2026
The City of Charlottetown is now accepting nominations for its annual Citizen Recognition Awards and Make Our Hometown Beautiful program.

These programs celebrate individuals and groups that help make Charlottetown a vibrant, welcoming community through volunteer service, community leadership, and beautification efforts.

The Citizen Recognition Awards honour residents, groups, and organizations that have made a meaningful contribution to the community and enhanced quality of life in Charlottetown. Recipients may include neighbours, co-workers, volunteers, community leaders, local groups, or businesses. The Forbes Kennedy Volunteer of the Year Award is presented to an individual who has demonstrated exceptional initiative, leadership, and creativity through volunteer service.

The Make Our Hometown Beautiful program recognizes residents, businesses, and community groups that take pride in creating beautiful gardens and landscapes throughout the city. Three winners will be selected based on curb appeal and features visible from the street.

Mayor Philip Brown will select one submission for the Mayor’s Award, and the City will select six residential gardens for the Communities in Bloom 2026 Miracle-Gro Best Garden Selection Program.

Recipients will be recognized during an awards ceremony held Thursday, July 30, as part of Natal Day Weekend celebrations.

Residents, businesses and community organizations are encouraged to nominate themselves or others.
