The City of Charlottetown is pleased to welcome back the Island Tides Yoga and Wellness Festival from June 18 to 21. Now in its fifth year, the festival features more than 60 events and workshops designed to promote health, wellness and active living.
Throughout the weekend, participants will take part in a variety of activities, including yoga, spin and Pilates classes hosted in public spaces across downtown Charlottetown.
As a result of several outdoor events, residents and visitors can expect increased pedestrian activity in the downtown. Motorists are encouraged to use caution and consider alternate routes during the following events:
• 5-Kilometre Run - Saturday, June 20 at 8 a.m. Participants will begin at Rochford Square and travel through Victoria Park via Kent Street.
• Silent Disco Dance Party – Saturday, June 20 from 6 to 7 p.m. Participants will depart from the Charlottetown Beer Garden on Kent Street, travel along a three-kilometre route through the downtown core. The group will be escorted by Charlottetown Police Services. Motorists are reminded that participants will be wearing headphones and may have limited awareness of surrounding traffic.
The City thanks residents, businesses and visitors for their patience and cooperation as we support this popular community event.
