Charlottetown residents are invited to roll up their sleeves and take part in a community tree planting event to celebrate National Tree Day on Saturday, Sept. 27 at Evergreen Park.
Hosted by the City of Charlottetown in partnership with Tree Canada, the event will see volunteers help plant 200 trees and shrubs to restore the urban forest following damage caused by Hurricane Fiona.
This free, family-friendly event is open to volunteers of all ages. No prior experience is necessary, and all plants, materials and tools will be provided. Refreshments will also be provided.
Planting will begin at 10 a.m. with a demonstration by the City’s Urban Forestry Team and will continue while supplies last.
