Temporary Water Discolouration Feb. 11

Water System Maintenance Results in Temporary Water Discolouration
Posted on 02/11/2026
The City of Charlottetown is advising all residents and businesses that due to maintenance carried out on the water system on Feb. 10, excess sediment in the system has resulted in a temporary discolouration of water.

The utility recommends flushing cold water through the bathtub or faucets for 5 minutes until it runs clear. If it doesn’t run clear, residents are advised to wait one hour and try again. The public should not consume any water that is discoloured.

Crews are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Please check the City’s social media for the latest updates.
